And we’re not the only ones, since they’ve experienced quite a success on the other side of the Atlantic: in the US, they played a date with Lilly Wood & The Prick and opened for… Stromae‘s West Coast tour! Pretty cool isn’t it? Satirically named after the highly diplomatic affair on French fries during the Iraq war (yes, that was a real thing), Marie and Bruce prove yet that France and USA teaming up can make sparkles. Being based in Los Angeles, Freedom Fry’s music soaks up the warmth and sunshine of California, and spreads a cheerful mix of pop, folk and indie rock sounds, with spellbinding songs such as ‘The Wilder Mile‘, ‘Summer In The City‘ or ‘21‘. We were happy to meet them while they were in France, for a radiant acoustic session next to the Arsenal Harbour, Paris (with Bastille as a background decor)! Accompanied by their guitarist, they performed one of their last track, ‘Shaky Ground (Hey Na Na Na)‘. This feel-good folky track is definitively on our summer playlist, to be listened to on a beach, enjoying the caress of sea breeze (or at work, enjoying the caress of air conditioning – that’s ok too)…
